Nan you always made me and everyone around you feel so special. We loved to hear your stories from years gone by and rude poems that made us all laugh out loud. You and Grandpa were so special and will always be in our hearts. I remember so clearly how you used to hold my hand and say I was handsome, debonair and a prince of men! Perhaps a biased view of your grandson but one that I still try and believe to this day! I know that you are at peace now Nan. Love you always Mathew, Helen, Autumn and Robin xxx

I have many happy memories of Nan throughout my life. She was so kind, and always very funny! When I was teaching in Chislehurst, I visited nan every Tuesday after work for a cup of tea and a chat. She introduced me to the delicacy of a digestive biscuit and a slice of wensleydale cheese with cranberries, which she always had waiting for me on a china plate. I loved that time together; talking about the war and my work with the children. It was lovely building a relationship with her as an adult. And...it amazed me how straight she kept the tassels on the rug in the living room, which she regularly brushed out to make sure they were displayed perfectly. I remember being impressed with this at every visit! We will all miss you, Nan, but you have left with us your love, which will last forever. x
